Navigation & Quick Actions

Runnit’s authenticated pages share one global header and one sidebar. The page title and page-specific controls change as you move around, while the create, chat, and notification controls remain available.

The header shows the current page title on the left. Controls such as view switchers, Edit dashboard, or Manage columns appear beside it when they apply to the current page.

The right side contains four global controls:

  • + New: create a project or task without leaving the current page.
  • Chat: open the Runnit assistant in a side panel.
  • Messages: open the conversation for the page you are on, with access to your other conversations, mentions, and direct messages.
  • Notifications: open your notification inbox; unread counts appear as a badge on the icon. See Messages & Notifications.

Choose + New → New project. If your organisation allows direct project creation, choose between:

  • Use Brief Builder for a guided brief and resource-planning workflow.
  • Create empty project to enter a name and optional client, then build the brief, tasks, and team from the project page.

If direct creation is unavailable, Runnit opens Brief Builder immediately. See Projects for the complete workflow.

Choose + New → New task, then select its client, project, assignee, dates, priority, and estimate. When you start from a project page, Runnit preselects that project and its client. After creation, the project opens so you can review the task in context.

The options you can select depend on your access to the client and project.

Choose Chat in the header to open the assistant without leaving your work. The assistant receives the page you opened it from and, on project pages, the relevant project and client context. This makes prompts such as “summarise this project” or “how do I use this page?” useful without repeating the context.

The conversation stays open while you navigate. Use New chat to reset it or Expand to continue in the full chat workspace. See Chat Assistant for media generation and feedback submission.

The sidebar links to the main product areas. Expand Projects to see your recent active projects; each project has the same colour swatch used on project cards and detail pages. Collapse the sidebar when you need more working space.

Your profile, light/dark mode switch, and sign-out control are at the bottom of the sidebar. The chosen theme is saved and applies across the app, including custom Studio widgets.
