Brief Status

Every brief carries a status that tracks where it sits in its lifecycle. This distinguishes briefs you’re still shaping from those that have been turned into live work.

The two states

Status	Meaning
Draft	The brief is being prepared and hasn’t been activated yet.
Activated	The brief has been activated and is in progress.

New briefs start as draft automatically. There is nothing extra to set up. A brief without an explicit status is treated as a draft.

Where it shows up

Brief status drives where a brief appears on the Kanban board: draft briefs sit in the Planning column and activated briefs move into In Progress. Moving a brief between those columns updates its status.

Note

A brief’s status is separate from its processing state (such as pending, processing, or completed). Status describes the lifecycle stage you control; the processing state reflects background work.
